velously pictured in the revealing by Joseph (in Genesis chap. 45) of his identity to his brothers; and yet, in the midst of all the joy, theirs will be great sorrow; for only one third of those Israelis left will accept Christ:  (Zechariah 13, vs. 8-9)  "Two parts therein shall be cut off and die: but the third part shall be left therein.  And I will bring the third part through the fire."
Today, many Jews exhort us to remember the Holocaust but miss the most important question the Holocaust raises. It is not the culpability of the Catholic Church, nor the  turning away of the Christian community from acknowledging its existence in World War II. The main questions Jews need to ask today about the Holocaust are:  Where was the God of Moses, Abraham, Jacob and David during the Holocaust? Why did God, who freed the children of Israel with a mighty hand in Egypt through Moses, allow millions of Moses descendants to be hunted down and slaughtered? Why did God allow the Jewish temple in 70 A.D. to be completely destroyed? The answer lay in a stable in Bethlehem. For Christ their Messiah  (Micah 5, v. 2) came,  was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7, v. 14) was cut off [killed] (Daniel 9, v. 26) and rejected of His own so that the Gentiles might come in to the family of God.

The Anti-Christ

In John, (5. v. 43) Jesus declares, I am come in my father's name, and ye receive me not:  If another shall come in his own name -- him ye shall receive  (speaking of the Anti-Christ).  Most scholars agree that this coming Anti-Christ (the Little Horn of Dan. 3, v. 9), the Beast of Revelation 17 (vs. 7-12) will rise to power through diplomacy (at first) in a revived Roman Empire, most likely a United States of Europe, better know as the E.E.C. or European Economic Community (though some first Century church leaders thought he might be a Syrian Jew).  Most likely, though, he will come from Greece or Macedonia as implied in the book of Daniel.  He will sign a seven year peace treaty with Israel; actually Daniel says he will confirm the covenant or rather sign on to an existing document. These events will become possible if Israel's main defender, the United States, is somehow weakened or debilitated by some terrible catastrophe, allowing this European leader to expand his influence (eventually world wide).  I believe the absence of the United States, except in very vague terms in the Bible, does not portend good things for us. It is my estimation that probably the United States and Russia will exchange nuclear arsenals in a one-day holocaust pointed to in Ezekiel chapters 38-39.

Even now as we see Israel forging peace alliances we are keenly aware that time is running out.  Paul the Apostle, (1 These. 5, v.3) says, For when they shall say peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them.  Israel will soon conclude a peace treaty with Syria. Her entire borders will then be secure (as Ezekiel 38-39 demands). It is then that Russia will commence her invasion. Terrorist acts most likely will continue, (as they have in England and the United States) but this will not nullify Ezekiel's preconditions of peace that must precede this nuclear holocaust.
